More of the good stuff

We love album arts and we also love getting paid to do them. Whenever we find the time, we do it free and get thrills just wowing a friend. This album art was one of such latter kinds. He is persistent. He is also willing to go through the process with you without being an "expert".

For Moxie Drillz, once again.

Quite a while...but Busy

We did not forget to blog. We wanted to give you something interesting to read. I doubt if we came up with that. Anyway, we landed a contract for branding the fast food BLUEBERRIES in Cross Rivers State and it has been a great experience all the way. It is still in progress but you can see some of the designs we did to get the job.

We suggested that logo right there on the cap but the MD chose something else.
.
So, that became the basis of the brand. We have been on the road from Abia to Anambra to Delta State. Lagos has someone on other products and it has been a wonderful time.

If you want proof that design is lucrative, well, this is one.

We are grateful for the opportunity and we trust God that more of these portfolios are round the corner.

Storm Thorgerson: The Album Art guru

This artist has great designs you must agree but what is it with all the naked fellows? The great graphic designer passed on recently. I post some of his great works here as a tribute to his ingenuity. He was a very eccentric personality. He had a love for the weird and wonderful.
His "STORMSTUDIOS" march on. See some of the works here and make your  comments

The art was made for a band to illustrate a foot in the door or the reverse. it was turned down but Storm chronicled it and couldn't see why it was turned down.

Recent album art for Muse by Storm Thorgerson

Here, he mixes painting with a photograph medium to deliver this album art for Rival Storms' Pressure and Time.

MORE ART COVERS

These are some of the art I like personally. You can see more of his jobs HERE

Yours artistically,

LOGOS

My new logo design knowledge quest is so exciting. Just discovered some great advices on giving your logo design process a systematic approach. It is a new and challenging journey because it limits me to just four tools: Pen, Shape, Text and Path selection (in PS if you dont mind me talking shop).

So, with what I have learnt, expect new logos like these below.

Cool stuff! So, who wants a tryout? Send me your brief stating your company name, your objectives, your services and clear idea of what you want your logo to be. Then, please don't interfere with my design except at scheduled feedback sessions. (Some clients can get overly fussy but trust the Pros, ok?)

Check these links out if you are a designer too

TIME

Moxie Drills. We went to the University together. That brother never let the day end without showing me a new verse or rhyme he just concluded. Thank God there is a medium now to share his works with you guys. My head "wan nearly burst".
Jide AKA Moxie Drills. Check him out as you surf.

Albert Steveso

I enjoy art. I dont know all the fancy terms for analysing art forms but I get by. I also respect commercial art as it makes all the effort worthwhile. I get lots of newsletters from design sites and blogs encouraging me to ' learn art' but I find I pursue something else, most of the times. Anyway, this fellow, Albert Steveso caught my roving eyes. Please, look at the resonant theme in the following and see if it elicits any feeling of euphoria.

Cool designs, huh? They make me sit up all night with my PS CS6 Extended.

Business Card

Simple Card design for Cost and Design Engineers, GRIA ELECTRIC. One of the pricey ones.

A sample card design for Tata Messiri Consultants. Not so pricey.

Hello,
New design from P.A.WMedia. Moxie Drillz is a Nigerian Rap artist, with a raw talent. Needed a little fine tune and colour. So, Moxie hope you dig this.

Sanguine Vampires

It seems the caption is kinda * too recessed* . I see it because I put it there. What do you see?

Heard

"It strikes me as odd to describe a pupil who scores 30% in an exam as better than another who scored 26%. The important fact is that both students FAILED"

"Why are we even arguing about the size of foreign reserves when our citizens have no decent hospitals to go to, our schools – from elementary to university – are dilapidated, our roads are a shambles, power supply remains woeful, and most Nigerians have to pee and defecate in the open, like animals?"

"Serious leaders around the world spend their waking hours thinking up strategies for improving the lot of their people, and positioning their nations as players in the global economy. Nigeria’s pretend-leaders spend half of their waking hours scheming over who, among a set of undesirable parasites, is to become the ruling party’s next chairman of the Board of Trustees; the other half on depraved conspiracies to corner scandalous sums of public funds for their private use!"

Nothing is really Brand New!

Bob Marley is undoubtedly an icon. But as the years go by, it seems nobody cares anymore. I'm sure his family gets some royalties from his numerous works but the love of the Rastafarian disciple has grown cold in the heart of many faithfuls. I have forgotten lots of lines and lyrics from his hit songs but I miss a lot of family members because we used to share Bob's music anytime they came around. We pay him his due respect once a while when we play his albums on our car stereos as we go through traffic but we hardly dance to that gig anymore. Off the top of my head, it may seem disjointed but what I am trying to say is nothing stays new so don't fret.
